Joachim Low cheering team

Germany coach Joachim Löw said the fans were wrong to boo his side and individual players during the 4-0 win over Kazakhstan.

After opening up a 3-0 lead by half-time, the fans inside Kaiserslautern’s Fritz-Walter Stadion clearly expected more of the same, but they had to wait until the 88th minute before seeing another goal, by which time they had vented their frustration.

However, Löw has defended his team, saying they have more than lived up to the expectations.…

EM-Qualifikation Deutschland - Kasachstan

A Klose double gave Germany a big push towards qualifying for Euro 2012, as they trounced minnows Kazakhstan 4-0 at home on Saturday to keep their unbeaten record in Group A.

The win sent Joachim Löw’s side eight points clear of the chasing pack in Group A, with Belgium, Austria and Turkey all seeking to close the gap on Tuesday. Kazakhstan remain point-less and goal-less at the bottom of the group.

“We know they weren’t a great side although they were compact and defended pretty well but I’m pleased with my goals at the beginning and the end of the game,” said Klose after the game.…

Loew training the team

Germany will have no mercy with minnows Kazakhstan as coach Joachim Löw wants to see dynamic attacking football from his team in Saturday’s Euro 2012 qualifier.

Löw confirmed on Friday that veteran Miroslav Klose will spearhead the German attack as he called for a similar fast-paced game as at the 2010 World Cup and the first Euro qualifiers.

“We want to win. We want to see a team that shows the same enthusiasm as at the World Cup and the following games. We want to play at a fast pace,” said Löw.

“It is not a question of how good Kazakhstan are, but how good we are.”…

klose euro qualifying

Germany extended their 100% record in Euro 2012 qualifying Group A to four games with three unanswered goals in the second half at Kazakhstan’s Ortalyk Tsentralnyi Stadium.

The visitors were heavy favourites to despatch the minnows but with the match scoreless at half-time there will no doubt have been some nerves in the Germany ranks.

Miroslav Klose finally got his side on the scoresheet three minutes into the second half, while Mario Gomez and Lukas Podolski also found the target to give a more comfortable look to the scoreline.
