Löw nominates prospects for upcoming friendly

Five young prospects complete the German roster at an international friendly match against Malta this upcoming Thursday, May 13.

Coach Joachim Löw nominated these players in Stuttgart today: Kevin Großkreutz and Mats Hummels (Borussia Dortmund), Stefan Reinartz (Bayer Leverkusen), Marco Reus (Borussia Mönchengladbach) and goalkeeper Tobias Sippel (1. FC Kaiserslautern).

Löw decided to nominate the five upcoming Bundesliga-stars for the benefit match against Malta as he is forced to replace eleven players from his South Africa roster. All players of Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen as well as German captain Michael Ballack (FC Chelsea) are unavailable for the Malta match, as their clubs have qualified for their respective national cup finals.

Sippel and Hummels won the U 21 European championship for Germany, while Stefan Reinartz won the European championship with the German U 19-team in 2008.

Even though these young prospects were not chosen for the World Cup, they are certainly worth keeping an eye on!
