Ankle injury rules Christian Träsch out

Midfielder Christian Träsch was ruled out of the World Cup after sustaining an ankle injury during a friendly at the squad’s training camp in Italy today, the German football federation (DFB) said. Träsch twisted his right ankle during Germany’s 4-0 win over FC South Tirol.

“Christian Träsch cannot take part in the World Cup in South Africa,” the DFB said in a statement.

Traesch joins a growing list of German players to miss the World Cup, including Germany’s captain Ballack and their no. 1 goalkeeper Adler.

The 22-year-old Stuttgart player has two international caps and was a candidate to replace Ballack in midfield.

The two injuries have narrowed down the coach Joachim Löw’s preliminary squad to 25 players. He must announce a final 23-man squad by 1 June.

I hope this bad luck over the German team ends soon,
The team must rest for the world cup and stop all these friendly matches that aren’t needed now.
You’re the best team out there and there is nothing to prove anymore.
Be safe and make us proud in south Africa….GO GERMANY ! ! ! !
